| The above picture shows a cross section of
parts manufactured in our facility with the various machines available
to us. From side impact air bag plates to entire assemblies that
are laser cut, formed, assembled and welded, our RAPID PROTOTYPING
capabilities generate prototypes for our customers in a very short
period of time. Depending on the application, prototypes can be
completed in as little as two to three days. |
- Laser cut blank with formed center.
- Formed center with additional form.
- Formed blank with 2 laser cut pilot holes
for extrusion.
- Two holes extruded to height with O.B.I.
presses.
- Perimeter of cup gets 15 laser cut holes
in perimeter with 5 axis laser cutting machine.
- Parts are tumble de-burred and oiled
prior to shipping.

|
| Prototypes requiring
special tooling can still be accommodated by our in-house tooling
department.
We can rapidly modify existing tooling and/or build new tooling.
This enables us to provide the service of rapid prototyping.
Lead time for development of blanks and parts is decreased with
the assistance of our lasers for blank development.

Example
Laser Laminated Tooling |
|
| Laser
laminated tooling is used in many of our rapid prototyping
applications. Laser laminated tooling utilizes our flat laser
cutting machines to create flat blanks that are in the shape of
the tool to be used. Once all of the blanks are cut, they are
assembled and bolted together. The entire tool is then mounted
either into a break press or an OBI press to be used as standard
form tooling.
Advantages of laser laminated tooling
- Tooling can be developed in a matter
of days, even hours.
- Modifications to the tooling can be simply
programmed into the flat laser and then cut into the necessary
changes required.
- Assembly of tooling and building of tooling
is streamlined so price of tooling is more competitive.
Disadvantages of laser laminated tooling
- Number of hits on tooling is reduced
to to the fact that tooling is "soft" and assembled
pieces of blanks rather than one solid piece of tool steel.
|
| The capacity
to accommodate all prototype projects in one facility benefits
to customers. With every prototype comes the knowledge gained
during the prototype process.
Lasercraft is able to produce all stages of the prototypes and
provide to our customers all the information that was gained during
the prototype process.

|
| The above pictures represent completed prototype
projects. As you can see, our prototype projects range from tubular,
flat, to multi-dimensional parts. With our diverse equipment, we
can accommodate many different prototype projects in a timeline
second to none. Our equipment
